Influenced the World

Hip Hop has helped give the world a voice. Through hip hop peoples opinions and thoughts are being heard. Through the music people are living and fighting for what they believe in. Hip hop can be misunderstood as “trashy” music, which in some cases are true when they are about sex, drugs, crime, but in many other cases the music is about being heard by expressing themselves. It’s about listening to the message in the song, not so much about the beat and tone of voice. Hip hop unites people from all around the world. Hip Hop gives them something in common.

A few of these slang words are:

– Biscuit = Gun
– Whip = Car, Automobile
Most people who are not in the “Hip hop culture” would probably not understand the definition of most words used, but it is their language among each other.

Hip Hop has also influenced dance, back in the day younger people would dance facing each other at Clubs but now it is more common to see them dancing front to back (The girl dancing with her back towards the guys front), this is also known as “Grinding”.
Breakdance was born through Hip Hop as well and it is one of the bigger and more popular form of dancing in Hip Hop. Breakdancing and grinding is nothing unfamiliar to the world, but not everyone might know that it originates from hip hop.
